TIGER SIBERIAN

Art

The 2021 art world has been quite rough sailing, holding onto your oars and paddling upstream.  Along with the whole country we are all  trying to keep going. I know that we will come through this, hopefully wiser, more intune with things that give us inner peace and a real appreciation for the beautiful things around us.

I for one in the first lockdown found and even better appreciation for nature and the wonderful peace and serenity that it can bring to our lives.  Art became even more my ‘go to source’ to keep me peaceful, grounded and took my mind off of worrying.

I have been creating some artwork that made me feel happy and I have loved doing Big Cat pieces as I love working on their eyes to give real character to the pieces.  I hope when you have a look around my website you will be able to see that I enjoy the use of colour in my work to try and brighten people’s spirits.

Here are a few of them. I had the idea to create their backs made out of doodle art, for what I was feeling at the time  I was making each piece.  They are kind of like a Where’s Wally for the art market.  Hopefully people will enjoy looking at the and discovering new little pieces of doodles each time they look.

Some of them include multitudes of small mice running around, I lost count how many I actually included but I know there were quite a few.  Anyway without further ado, here are a few for you to take a look at.

HIP HOP

HIP HOP

HIP HOP

Rude Boy and Little Terror strike again in a new painting called HIP HOP. Each painting is an original and a lot of thought goes into trying to design something that will be interesting and quirky for the customers.  Each piece is finished with 2 coats of resin to make the have a mirror type shine.

Rude Boy and his younger brother called Little Terror are always getting into a bit of bother, sometimes bad sometimes good.  Having two younger brothers and two sons so maybe I draw inspiration from things I did as a youngster or with my two children.

Each piece is very different and very unique.    I am working this week on a new Rude Boy painting with just Little Terror and it includes a 5 layer stencil that I have been spray paintings. Hopefully in about a week I will be able to post that on here for you all to see.

I am a self taught artist, always learning new techniques to enhance my ideas for creating different pieces of art.  Hip Hop uses spray paints as well as acrylic paints.  I started using spray paints just last year and like the many different ways that you can use them.

Rude Boy and his gang, including a dog and a besotted wannabe girlfriend hopefully will make people smile and bring quirkiness to my artwork.

I still have lots to learn about art and discover new ways of doing things along the way or totally new techniques that I haven’t tried before.  It is all a learning curve.  Sometimes the mistakes that we make along the way can turn out to be something spectacular too.  I have just started using alcohol inks for the first time.  I generally ask other artists for advise or youtube information or techniques to see what I need and how to use different products that I haven’t used before.

POP ART STYLE

POP ART STYLE

Pop art is one of my favourite styles when I am creating my artwork.  I love the work of Andy Warhol and has been a big influence on my current pop art paintings.  I started with Marilyn Monroe and produced various different colours with the same image so produced a collection that was 34″x34″ framed size.  These were all highly embellished with diamond dust that make them sparkle and shine when even a little light catches them.  I love this effect as they really stand out when you walk past them.

I then moved onto producing a range of pop art for  Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix
the lovely Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, the great vintage movie hero Charlie Chaplin and one of my favourite pop stars the late and great Freddie Mercury.

PHOTOS

I would need to see several photos of your pet to get a good idea of what you would like and complete a good pet portrait for you. The reference photo if possible should be with good detail and clear and several close ups if you have them. This will help me to establish eye colour, reflections in the eyes, whiskers and any quirky features that your pet has.  I know this isn’t always possible as some pets have passed away and there are only limited photos. If this is the case I will strive my best to capture your beloved pet to the best possible standard that I can.

If you are local to me I can come and take some photos and use those, we can select one that we think your going to like.

SKETCH APPROVAL & DEPOSIT

When we have discussed what you would like, I will then send you the sketch for your to approve.  Upon approval I will require at 50% deposit for your commission before I start. Usually the piece will be ready with 2-3 weeks depending on prior commissions. I will give you a time slot when you have decided to go ahead.  I will send you progress photos throughout. Full payment will be required on completion of the piece.

COPYWRIGHT

Pet Portrait original painting itself belongs to the client, the artist retains copyright, therefore the client is not permitted to produce copies of the painting e.g. prints, cards, etc without written approval from the artist. You are welcome to share images of the portrait in all stages of production on social media with the artists name on.  The artist has the right to display images of the portrait publicly, including advertising  and sales purposes and to produce reproductions of the image.  Please inform me beforehand if you do not wish me to use the image in this way.  I am sensitive to a portrait being a gift for a family member or friend and if this is the case would not put any images on until you have given this as a gift, so as not to spoil the surprise.
